Back to the Bricks – 2018

The annual Back to the Bricks festival is back again. The five-day party of classic cars and awesome rides began earlier this week. The main parade route stretches from the brick paved road of Saginaw Street in downtown Flint down to Grand Blanc.

On Wednesday, the Rolling Cruise will begin at Mott’s Applewood Estate. Flint Mayor Karen Weaver will be the Grand Marshall of the event.

There is a Cruise “N” Concert in downtown Flint on Friday, with music shows and classic cars lining Saginaw for what will be a fun and exciting time.

On Saturday, vehicles from almost every decade spanning the past 100 years will be on display.  Gates open at 6:00 am, with parking on a first come, first serve basis. The University of Michigan-Flint parking lot will be open even earlier. The opening ceremony will begin at 10:00 am with the Marine Color Guard on hand. There will be special shows for Corvettes and Cadillacs.

The festival includes multiple car shows, concerts, dancing and fun activities for the kids. This year, the city of Flint is expecting approximately 40,000 cars and 600,000 visitors to visit the area during the week.

I’m hoping my favorite ride, 1950s era Ford Thunderbirds will be on display. If you see one in red, please let me know!
