While walking outside his home in Fort Gratiot, a large pit bull escaped through the front door of his neighbor’s home. Our client continued to walk on the sidewalk, unaware of the animal that was running towards him. The dog approached our client, and before he could do anything to get out of its path, the dog reached for and bit the young boy. The attack left permanent scarring to his left thigh and injury to this left hand.
After he returned home, his mother took him to McLaren Port Huron Hospital for treatment. The wounds were cleansed and antibiotics were provided. He also sought treatment from his pediatrician. The wounds fortunately did not become infected, but the resulting scarring is permanent.
