Dodge Dakota Collides With Multiple Vehicles in Bay County Resulting In Death
Incident Information
A tragic six-vehicle accident on U.S. 10 in Bay County left one person dead early Wednesday morning. The devastating chain of events unfolded around 6:40 a.m. on the overpass near I-75 in Monitor Township. According to the Michigan State Police, the sequence began when the driver of a Dodge Dakota pickup truck, heading westbound, lost control of their vehicle and collided with the guardrail. Subsequently, a 2012 Dodge Ram crashed into the now-disabled Dakota. This second collision set off a domino effect, leading to a 2005 Hummer and a 2000 Volvo sedan being engulfed in the wreckage as well. In an attempt to avoid the chaos on the roadway, two more westbound vehicles also became ensnared in the collision. Tragically, a 39-year-old man from Saginaw was ejected from the initial Dodge Dakota and pronounced dead at the scene.
