Box Truck Rear-Ends Semi-Truck in Jackson County Resulting in Injury

On Friday morning, a driver of a box truck was injured in a fiery crash on eastbound I-94 near Race Road in Jackson County. The truck had crashed into the back of a semi-truck, causing the box truck to catch fire. Crews from Blackman-Leoni Township Fire Department were quick to respond and found the 20-foot truck fully engulfed in flames upon arrival. Fortunately, the driver of the box truck only suffered minor injuries and was released from the hospital later that day. The cause of the crash is currently unknown, and it is unclear if either of the trucks were carrying any cargo.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office confirmed that it was indeed a Budget truck, a popular truck rental service. Crews worked diligently to clear the scene. Both the cause of the crash and the resulting fire are still under investigation by authorities.
