Incident Information

Tragedy struck on Wednesday when an Indiana man sustained critical injuries after crashing his vehicle into a semi-truck and becoming lodged under the trailer. Police reported that the 48-year-old victim from Michigan City was unable to stop in time when the truck pulled out from Bakertown Road onto US 12, resulting in a crash with dire consequences. As of Wednesday evening, the victim was being cared for at South Bend Memorial Hospital, listed in critical condition. Fortunately, the driver of the truck – a 62-year-old Warren man – escaped without injury. Michigan State Police have yet to determine if drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident, and are conducting a full investigation into what happened.
