Rita Shoka


Rita Shoka completed her undergraduate studies at Wayne State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in sociology. She then attended law school at Wayne State University where she received a Juris Doctorate degree in 2011.

While in law school, Ms. Shoka represented indigent Claimants seeking Social Security Disability benefits with the Wayne State University Disability Law Clinic.

As an attorney with the Lee Steinberg Law Firm, Ms. Shoka concentrates her practice in the area of Disability Law and takes special interest in cases involving mental health issues, children’s disability cases and spinal disorders. Prior to joining the firm. Rita successfully represented Claimants in administrative law hearings and Appeals Council claims throughout the Midwest. She also represented Plaintiffs in civil actions against the Social Security Administration in the United States District Court of Northern Indiana.

She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, American Bar Association and National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR). Ms. Shoka is also admitted to practice law in the United States District Courts of Northern Indiana and Western Michigan.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, running and volunteering in the community.
