Franci is a Michigan native, attended Michigan State University College of Law and graduated in 1988, and has been practicing law since. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Michigan Association for Justice. She is also a member of the Negligence and Social Security sections. Her client sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) after being struck by a careless hit-and-run driver while retrieving his groceries. Before the accident, her client was able to work 14-hour days in a demanding job, and take care and provide for his five children and foster children. After the accident, the man suffered severe and debilitating injuries that required immediate treatment and support for his family. A claim was made through his auto insurance carrier to cover damages such as medical bills, replacement services, attendant care, and lost wages. Unfortunately, the carrier denied his request.
Franci was with her client and his family through each step of the legal process, including when the auto insurance carrier refused to help or make those payments. She fought for him as he battled severe neck and low back pain, suffered cognitive struggles and mood impairments, and severe migraine headaches related to his TBI. Through a lawsuit filed under the Michigan No-Fault Law, she made it possible for the man to obtain the benefits he dutifully paid over the years. Franci’s experience, friendly nature, legal expertise, and loyalty to her clients ultimately helped him win this difficult case. She never gave up until the insurance company agreed to start paying, including more than $200,000 to cover all outstanding medical expenses.
