A tragic incident took place on Saturday night in Pontiac, leaving three residents in critical condition. At around 10:49 p.m., a devastating crash occurred on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Osmun Street. According to police reports, a 27-year-old male from Pontiac was driving his 2015 Cadillac XTS when he lost control of the vehicle while swerving in an attempt to avoid the driver of another car who was reversing out of a driveway.

The police gathered information revealing that the incident occurred near an address where a party was being held, leaving those in attendance shaken and horrified at the scene of what was supposed to be a night of festivities. The Cadillac had mounted the curb in front of the party, striking the three pedestrians who were walking on the sidewalk. 

The scene was chaotic as three pedestrians were struck by a vehicle in Pontiac. Reports indicate that a 46-year-old woman was the first to be hit, landing violently on Osmun Street before being transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition. A 56-year-old man was also thrown onto the back of a parked Ford F150 pickup truck, also in critical but stable condition as well. The third pedestrian, another older male of 52 years, had landed under the same F150 truck before being rushed to the hospital. While all three are listed as stable, it’s clear that this was a terrifying and life-changing event.
